We have four official functions planned for the Championships. All functions will be access controlled via wrist bands and it will not be possible to enter a function without having one.
The Opening Ceremony and BBQ Cook-Out are kid friendly with a reduced price being offered for those under 18.
“Meet & Greet” Welcome Reception on Saturday July 28
This will be held at Three Notch’d Brewery & Tap Room from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. An informal, casual attire event. No speeches, no presentations, just good beer, finger food (sliders, nachos, pretzel bites, etc.) and your first chance to catch up with friends and fellow competitors over a great tasting beer flight from our sponsor Three Notch’d. There will be a non-alcoholic, craft soda option available as well. On-line tickets sales are no longer possible. It may be possible to attend the Welcome Reception by purchasing a $40 ticket in cash at tournament registration (if any are still available). For those signed up for the TRANSPORTATION SERVICE we have a coach to get you to and from Three Notch’d at IX Park. For those making their own way, the address is 520 2nd Street SE, Charlottesville, Virginia. 22902. There is no dress code for this function.
Opening Ceremony on Monday July 30
This will be held in the Pavilion at Boar’s Head from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The event will include a limited number of welcome speeches, heavy hors d’ouvres (including carving station, charcuterie, cheese stations and three passed appetizers), and a cash bar which will include draft beer from Three Notch’d at $4 a pour. The fee for this function is $48 per person (and $25 for kids under 18 years old). There is a casual dress code for this function. *** THIS FUNCTION IS NOW SOLD OUT ***
BBQ Cook-Out on Thursday August 2
This will be held outdoors on the Balloon Field at Boar’s Head from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Enjoy a classic outdoor American BBQ, southern style! The evening will include the food and entertainment in the form of a local blue grass band. Cash bar will include draft beer from Three Notch’d at $4 a pour. The fee for this function is $48 per person (and $25 for kids under 18 years old). It may be possible to attend the Welcome Reception by purchasing a $60 ticket at tournament registration (if any are still available). There is no dress code for this function.
Closing ceremony on Saturday August 4
This will be held in the Pavilion at Boar’s Head from 7:00 pm to 12:00 am. The event will be a sit down, three course local Virginia themed dinner, inclusive of your first glass of wine. After the dinner and presentations are complete, there will be plenty of opportunity to drink, dance (with a DJ from 9:00 pm to 12:00 am) party, and place a fitting end to a great week of competition. Cash bar will include draught beer from Three Notch’d at $4 a pour. The fee for this function is $68 per person.
