July 11 Update – Men’s Divisions & Function/Transport booking

All men’s divisions have been updated and are now correct. Plenty of questions are still coming in regarding the booking of functions. On-line booking through the website is now closed. Our opening and closing ceremonies are sold out and unfortunately we cannot add additional capacity. However the Welcome Reception ($40) and BBQ Cook-Out ($60) can still accommodate more people and can be booked and paid for by paying cash upon check-in for the event. Same goes for the Transportation Loop between hotels and venues ($60).

Lastly if you forget to book your airport pick-up, if there is still space on the bus at the time you want we would be happy to add you. Please email us at wmsquash2018@gmail.com with your airport pick up inquiry.

July 9 Update – Refresh Your Browser

The withdrawal of a seed requires a division re-draw and therefore changes to several start times.  Updating isn’t as simple as just moving seeds upwards as players from the same country have to be kept apart, and we are trying to give everyone as many matches as possible rather than just issuing  additional “byes”, so it takes considerable time and work. Please make sure you check-in with the first match time page regularly, and remember to refresh your web browser each time, so you are always getting the very latest version rather than a stored one.

11.00pm: All women’s divisions are now current and fully updated, with all recent withdrawals accounted for (as at 11.00pm on July 9). If you are viewing the latest version then it will say “updated July 9”. The men’s divisions are still in the process of being updated.

July 7 Update – Individual Start Times Now Available

We have now posted Individual first match start times.  Click here for MEN’S DIVISIONS and click here for WOMEN’S DIVISIONS.  Our intention is to publish full draws on Sunday July  15.

Please check in with your start time every 3-4 days. In the event of a withdrawal to a seeded player, the draw must be reconfigured and this often requires a change to several start times. We guarantee that no match will be brought forward by a full day, however a change of time to earlier on the same day may very occasionally be required.

June 17 – Entry Closes at 802 Participants

With 58 countries/territories represented. The largest entry as expected is from the home nation of USA with 221 players. Then very solid representation from Canada (82), Australia (81), England (81), and South Africa (72).

The largest men’s division of entry is the 55-59 years with 120 players. The largest women’s division of entry is the 45-49 year bracket with 31 players entered. To see the entry broken down by age divisions go here.

And though tournament entry is closed, it’s not too late to sign up for any of our four official functions, or our transportation service and airport shuttle pick-up (and drop-off). You can book these until July 2. See the registration page for the appropriate links to book.

June 11 Update – Entry passes 700!

With 4 days to go, entry hits 703 players. There has also been a significant jump in sign-ups for our four official functions, with 159 for The Welcome Reception, 239 for the Opening Ceremony, 201 for the BBQ Cook-out, and 231 for the Closing Ceremony.

Don’t forget a $10 late fee gets applied to all function ticket bookings made after June 15, and the deadline for any tickets at all is July 2.

May 30 Update – Entry passes 600!

With just over two weeks to go until the sign up deadline of June 15, total entry currently stands at 610 players.

Hotels have been booking up, and at this point Boar’s Head, the Holiday Inn, and Homewood Suites are all sold out. Rooms are still available at Hyatt Place and Hilton Garden Inn, and we have added two new options in the Courtyard Marriott and Hampton Inn.  Booking links can be found on the accommodation page.

We’ve been getting a lot of questions coming in regarding dates of division start times. The best information we have for you at this point is posted on the format page (under the schedule tab) so please take a look there first before emailing us with inquiries. We will need about 10 days after entry closes to put the tournament schedule together, but we hope to be able to release the first round match times by Monday June 25. Make sure you are signed up for our digital newsletter in order to be sent notification of when the draws are published by WSF.

May 1 Update – Entry passes 500!

Our total entry has just passed 500! And with 6 weeks still to go until the official closing date of June 15th, we are very hopeful of reaching our goal of 750 total participants. If you haven’t entered yet, then click on the registration tab above.

For those already entered, don’t forget to sign up for the “add-ons” which include airport pick-up, and tickets to our four official functions. And lastly, please sign up for our digital newsletter. We are sending this out every two weeks from now until the closing date on June 15th, and then weekly thereafter. Between the newsletter and regular visits to this website you will be certain to stay up to date with everything going on in our preparations for the championships.
